What is the resurrection?

About the fate and the destination of the dead there is much discord. But what can we learn from the Bible?

Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming,

in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

And shall come forth;

they that have done good,

unto the resurrection of life;

and they that have done evil,

unto the resurrection of damnation.

John 5:28+29

Does this mean that JEHWAH is going to torture the wicked in purgatory, or for ever in hell? This is also answered in the Bible.

For yet a little while,

and the wicked shall not be:

yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place,

and it shall not be.

But the meek shall inherit the earth;

and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

Psalms 37:10+11

Watch the fate of the wicked, first they get resurrected, then they are judged and afterwards simply destroyed.

But how is that possible, people that have perished for a long time, some of them even burned, to give them a resurrection? The Bible answeres:

Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing?

and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father.

But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.

Fear ye not therefore,

ye are of more value than many sparrows.

Matthew 10:29-31

JEHWAH knows our DNA perfectly, even our thoughts and he will recreate us perfectly ( only then in a perfect body ). The Bible explains:

JEHWAH knoweth the thoughts of man,

that they are vanity.

Psalms 94:11

The ultimate proof for the resurrection is that Jesjoewa ( Jesus ) during his life on Earth also resurrected dead people. A good example is Lazarus, a good friend of Jesjoewa ( Jesus ) and a brother of Martha. Lazarus was already dead for 4 days. I have typed some verses out:

Jesjoewa ( Jesus ) saith unto her,

Thy brother shall rise again.

Martha saith unto him,

I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

Jesjoewa said unto her,

I am the resurrection, and the life:

he that believeth in me,

though he were dead, yet shall he live;

John 11:23-25

Next Jesjoewa ( Jesus ) resurrects Lazarus, who was dead for 4 days ( John 11:43+44 ). So death in the Bible is compared with people that sleep ( John 11:11 ), and not with people that were secretly in heaven. For the rest the resurrection from the death ( which Martha spoke about ) will take place when God's Kingdom rules on Earth ( See: Thy Kingdom comes! ).

And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake,

some to everlasting life,

and some to shame and everlasting contempt.

Daniël 12:2
